The School of Humanities seeks to employ a Post-doctoral Teaching and Research Fellow in Chinese to contribute to its wide range of teaching and research activities. These include a rich portfolio of undergraduate combined degrees in Chinese, and MA Specialised Translation, and an MA Translation and Interpreting.
The post holder will be expected to make a contribution to undergraduate Chinese language and culture teaching. We are looking for somebody with a research profile in Chinese studies with particular focus on visual culture, propaganda, and/or PRC cultural history to speak to and complement existing and ongoing work in the School. Specifically, the post-holder will be expected to develop and contribute to research projects, including grant applications and public engagement projects, which involve the University’s Chinese propaganda poster collection.
The post-holder will be expected to perform administrative duties and to supervise research projects at all levels. The post holder will hold a PhD and will have an emerging research profile as evidenced in peer-reviewed publications.
