Call for Applications: Ph.D. fellowship on Chinese Studies

The Ph.D programme in Foreign Literatures, Languages and Linguistics, XXXV cycle, academic year 2019-2020 of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Verona (Italy) is offering a Ph.D. fellowship on Chinese Studies within the curriculum on Foreign Languages and Translation Studies.

The fellowship on Chinese Studies is aimed at the development of a project on Chinese vernacular lexicography in Ming and Qing dynasties. The successful applicant is expected to develop an individual research on the topic of the main research project and to write a PhD. dissertation focused on the analysis of at least one primary lexicographic work and its lexicon. The research project proposal must be attached to the application at the time of submission.

The selection procedure will be conducted in English and in Chinese. No prior knowledge of Italian language is required.

The selection procedure for the track in Foreign Languages and Translation involves evaluation of the candidates’ CV, their research project as well as an interview (on request via skype). For details see the application website.
