International Conference “A Review of Changes. 70 years of the People’s Republic of China in an Interdisciplinary Perspective”,

Toruń, Poland
Mar 12–13th 2020

October 1, 2019, marks exactly 70 years since the establishment of the People’s Republic of China. This year also includes many anniversaries of events that have shaped modern China in a significant degree in terms of politics, society and culture. It is an opportunity to summarize, look at the current heritage of post-war China, both successes and failures, as well as the challenges that the country is facing. Over the past seven decades, dynamic changes have covered a whole range of aspects shaped by the PRC policy, not only the economic sphere and foreign policy, but also language, literature, philosophy, law and culture.
Conference organizers direct the invitation to representatives of various scientific disciplines, among others: sinologists, philosophers, historians, linguists, literary scholars, culture scholars, economists, media scholars, political scientists, lawyers and sociologists. According to the organizers, only an interdisciplinary approach allows obtaining the most complete picture of the balance of changes in People’s Republic of China, together with their complexity and diversity.
