Three Doctoral Research Fellowships available at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages

The fellows will apply with a research project. This project needs to be thematically relevant to ongoing research at the department. A member of the permanent academic staff needs to be named in the application as a potential supervisor. The successful candidates are expected to join the existing research milieu and contribute to its development. In addition to their own research, they will take part in ongoing research related activities at the department or the relevant section.

The PhD candidates appointed will be affiliated with the IKOS PhD program as well as the Faculty’s organised research training. The academic work is to result in a doctoral thesis that will be defended at the Faculty with a view to obtaining the degree of PhD. Read more about the doctoral degree.

The PhD candidates will start on 1 January 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment is for a duration of three years. All PhD Candidates who submit their doctoral dissertation for assessment with a written recommendation from their supervisor within 3 years or 3 ½ years after the start of their PhD position, will be offered, respectively, a 12 or 6 month Completion Grant.
