Two Openings at the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Beijing Normal University
Job 1: Post-doctoral position (from 09/2015 to 09/2016, possible extension to 09/2017)
Job 2: Guest professorship (from 09/2015 to 09/2016, or from 09/2016 to 09/2017; also possible for 6 months), open rank (assistant professor [U.S.] / lecturer [U.K.] and above).
Research Field (Prioritized):
Field 1: Chinese Linguistics
Field 2: Classical Chinese Literature and Culture
Field 3: Modern Chinese Literature and Culture (including Film Studies)
Salary and Accommodation:
The minimum annual salary for the Post-doctoral position is 150,000 RMB (after tax).
The minimum annual salary for Guest professorship is 200,000 RMB (after tax).
The exact amount of salary will be discussed in the interview.
Relocation fee is included in the salary.
The School will not provide accommodation, but will help the candidate to find appropriate accommodation.
The candidate shall design and teach one or two courses for undergraduate students (1st or /
and 2nd year) on any subject related to “Chinese Language and Literature” (preferably Chinese linguistics or classical literature) in English language.
The teaching load is between 2 to 4 classes per week (45 minutes for each class, no more than 3 hours in total), and 16 to 18 weeks per semester (two semesters in total).
Special Requirements for the Post-doctoral Position:
Under 35 years old at the time of application.
The candidate shall publish at least one academic paper (in English) acknowledging the sponsorship of the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Beijing Normal University.
There will be minimum administrative work for the candidate.
