Vacant Position: Lecturer in Social Anthropology

The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences sees to appoint a Social Anthropologist with a regional focus on East Asia. You will further the School’s international reputation for research in Social Anthropology and its commitment to excellence in teaching and administration. You will present a research profile which is at the forefront of the field in any theoretical aspect of Social Anthropology and a geographic focus on any part of East Asia, in both experience to date and in future potential. You will demonstrate experience, achievement and potential reflected in a growing personal teaching and supervisory portfolio. You will contribute to developing and teaching core undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Social Anthropology, and offer option courses based on your research expertise and the needs of the Subject Area (Social Anthropology). You will also be equipped to teach a regional module based on your particular regional expertise and to supervise research projects that focus on contemporary issues in East Asia. You will be expected to play a full part in the collegial life of the Subject Area and the School.
