Membership Benefits

The European Association for Chinese Studies (EACS) represents the academic community of China scholars based in Europe, though membership is open to all individuals involved in the study of China independent of location. Apart from the annual EACS Newsletter, members receive advance information of academic activities organized by fellow members or of general interest through a dedicated mailing-list, including calls for papers, lectures, workshops, conferences, summer schools, and publications. In addition, the Association’s website publishes scholarship opportunities and academic job adverts. The EACS organizes a bi-annual academic conference for its members that alternates with a summer school. EACS members can apply for a Library Travel Grant (funded through the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation). Members aged 35 or younger are furthermore eligible for participation in the bi-annual Young Scholar Award (equally funded through the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation). The EACS also publishes the Journal of the European Association for Chinese Studies.
