The focus of the sixth edition of the The China School is China’s hi-tech rise and how it impacts on the advancement of the world’s second largest economy and global capitalism.

The China School will be held in presence in Milan, Beijing and Shanghai, from 14 July to 28 July 2025. After three days in Milan, the group will fly to China.
All the School activities – including lectures, company visits, and guided tours – are indicated in the program.

The Research Center on Contemporary China (Centro studi sulla Cina contemporanea, CSCC) together with the Graduate School of Management of Polytechnic University of Milan launches its China School, from the 14th to 28th July 2025 in three locations: Milan, Beijing and Shanghai. The China School will focus on “China’s Hi-Tech Rise: Strategies, Players and Perspectives”, it has the patronage of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce and is aimed at university students, company managers and professionals. The China School is organized as a development of the CSCC summer school, which was held for five editions and is considered as a major initiative in the field of higher education.

The China School will kick off with 15 hours of lectures on China’s technological rise and its impact on the global economy and international relations. These sessions will be held at PoliHub of Milan Polytechnic (in Milan, Italy), and delivered by well renowned academics and experts from prestigious universities and think tanks in China and the world (including Fudan University, Chatham House, University of Duisburg-Essen, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne). The second part of The China School will be delivered in China, where participants will deepen their empirical knowledge of economics and International Relations by visiting companies and interacting with local academics and institutions. A series of high-profile talks will be held in China. Visits to major historical and cultural sites, as well as symbolic venues in the history of China-West interaction, both in Beijing and Shanghai, are part of the program.

Lectures, talks and guided tours in China make The China School a unique platform for researchers, students, managers and professionals to explore and discuss the most relevant aspects of China-West interactions. Participants will be selected by the CSCC Scientific Committee based on their curricula and online interviews.
