Department of Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts, Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic, would like to invite you to its international summer school, titled: Bordering and Othering: how Inner Asian Identities Have Been Shaped. The main aim of this Summer School is to delve into the ways that identities in China and Inner Asia have been changing, shaped and re-shaped depending on political, economic, and social changes that have taken place in each of the cases that will be analysed during the week that the Summer School will be taught. The approaches from which the lecturers depart are multiple: historical anthropology, arts, material culture, political science and literature. Besides the lectures, this Summer School aims, in the long term, to become a research seminar, reason why it will be expected from the students to make a presentation of their own research projects or, at least, to be part of the discussions during which their colleagues will present.
