International Conference on “Methodology of researching
and teaching Chinese law” to be held on 18th October 2019
at St. Petersburg, Russia.
Our objective is to bring together researchers from all over the world and academics teaching Chinese law to non-Chinese students to discuss the challenges of conducting research on Chinese Law in foreign universities and subsequently, adopting the best practices.
This conference seeks your opinion to deliberate on the issues of Chinese law research and teaching through a creative sharing of ideas, research and practice and
to develop a platform for the establishment of cooperation between specialists in relevant fields of Chinese law.
Conference themes include but are not limited to:
• Defining the concept and the object of legal research
• Criteria for the good legal research
• The role of practise in teaching and researching Chinese Law
• The contributions of comparative law to teaching and researching Chinese Law
• The interpretation of legal sources
• The use of interdisciplinary methods
• Quantitative empirical approaches to researching Chinese Law
• Building the syllabus for teaching different branches of Chinese Law
Please note that participation is free of charge. Participants are responsible for organizing and paying for their own travel costs to the conference venue and for their accommodation and meals.
