The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) in Berlin, Germany is calling for applications for a 2-year Postdoctoral Scholar position. We are looking for a scholar who is trained in history of science, STS, or historical studies, ideally with a regional focus on either East Asian or Europe, and is experienced in research material access, data collection, DH, and qualitative analysis to work on the project “Tackling the Digital Gap between Asia and Europe” under the EduTrack: Tracking Education Pathways and Social Policies research theme. This project is dedicated to examining and comparing how European and East Asian countries possessing vast cultural heritage collections approach the digitization and accessibility of historical materials and how that would impact research conditions and quality in Europe and East Asia.
